Outline Levels (2003)

The attached file is being used as the test item in my automation attempt referred to <!post=here,574052>here<!/post> . There are nine heading levels for the main body of the document (Heading 1 through Heading 9), representing the nine outline levels; and there are nine heading levels for the appendices (Heading A1 through Heading A9).
My problem is with Heading A1. To the best of my knowledge it is set to Outline level 1; and it certainly acts that way. However, while paragraphs styled with any of the other 17 Heading styles return the appropriate Outline level when tested with:
Selection.Paragraphs.OutlineLevel

    Style Heading A1 returns 10.

Any guidance will be deeply appreciated.

    TIA

When I looked at your document, I found that the styles had incorrect outline levels. Style "Heading A1" was set to body text, and correctly reported outline level 10. I have re-defined the outline level for each of the appendix styles and it seems OK, does this behave the way you want?
