clearing out old email addresses (Outlook 2002 SP3

Everytime I go to make an entry in either the 'To:', 'CC:' or 'BCC:' fields Outlook presents me a list of names that are either linked old email addresses or email addresses of individuals that I deleted from my Contact area.

How do I clear the 'cache' on this information without losing any of my current contact information?

This information is kept in a file named Outlook.NK2 in the folder Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftOutlook. You can delete this file safely (without deleting any of your contacts).

Note: the Application Data folder is hidden, so you must show hidden files and folders in order to be able to see it in Windows Explorer.

You can also delete individual names which are no longer valid by scolling in the suggested name popup (if more than one name is suggested) and pressing shift-delete.
