Want a Mac OS

I found this download at http://flyakiteosx.en.softonic.com/ie/40817 which when installed replicates a Mac.

I installed it on my PC and it seemed very stable.
The look and feel is brilliant.
Totally reversable, I did a system restore with no issues or glitches.

Just tried to DL the app and the link is dead. You are then directed to the premium service (read pay for it) and investigating the link address the site has moved and wants your URL to get past the firewall.

Sounds like a fun app, but is it worth the trouble ???

Not to me it isn't, but I found the (apparent) author here: FlyakiteOSX - Modify . Simplify . Aquafy [The Official Site] and was able to go in and work my way to a download, but I didn't...

Re: Want a Mac OS

No problems now. Al's directions led me to the file and I'll be fooling with it tonight. Thanks for the heads up about this. I've always wanted to see what the attraction to the Mac desktop was but didn't want to spring for the whole computer just to take a test ride.

Re: Want a Mac OS

Well, if it is a MAC look you want, those of us who use Stardock WindowBlinds have dozens and dozens of skins which are MAC ports for Windows freely available to use. Here's one example of one of the substyles from Steve Grenier's "MAC OSX Tiger" skin (Brushed Graphite).

Re: Want a Mac OS

Hi Al,

I have been following this thread and I have to admit that I am intrigued that some of our loungers would go to such trouble trying to achieve a "MAC" look and feel on their PCs. I'm not sure what the purpose of this would be? The same goes for those who just had to see if they could load Windows XP on the new Intel MAC and apparently are able to do it! I think I'll just stick to having one of each around. There seems to be enough problems keeping things running right as it is! it just seems simpler to maintain the systems by keeping them separated and in their own box! Just my ........

I agree with you!

If you have multiple layers of operating system software on one machine, it will all end in tiers... !

Re: Want a Mac OS

Yes Good point. We use VMWare and Virtual PC at work and they do a great job of emulating multiple operating systems on one PC....This method would be my prefered method of having multiple OS's on a machine instead of partitions and dual boots.
