Select the cell in which you want to paste.
Press F2 to edit the cell contents.
Then press Ctrl+V to paste the text from the clipboard.

A mouse-only solution that works for me - and has the same effect as Hans' suggestion - is to left-click in the Formula Bar, then right-click and select Paste.

And another one: double-click on the cell, then paste (using any of the methods for pasting) <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Interesting - I was expecting that to copy the formatting of the copied text, but it doesn't!
Do you mean I've been clicking in my F-Bar all these years for no reason? <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

    That is a deeply philosophical question <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
