inserting data into linked tables takes too long (2000)

Hi all .. when from a form i insert data into a linked table in access, this operation takes too long to complete the first time...if i rechange the same data to something else the everything works pretty fine...it's only on the first insert or update....Anyone has suggestions on how to speed things up??

    Thanks in advance...
    Bye!

Can you provide more information abotu the linked tables? I assume they're coming across a network. What format are they:
Access, Excel, SQL Server? Is the form bound to the table or are you using code to update the table (ADO or DAO)?
Without more information, it's difficult to pinpoint the problem.

Take a look at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=acc&Number=10628&page=& view=&sb=&o=&part=&vc=1>this thread</A> for some ideas on removing Name Autocorrect and subdatasheets in Access 2000. Both of them are performance thieves.

If your back end is SQL Server/MSDE, you may still have subdatasheets in the front end, but you can also turn them off there.
