    Style visibility (VBA/Word/2003)

We are suffering from too much of a good thing. When our users want to apply a style to a selected paragraph, they are presented with so many styles--at times excluding the style of choice--that they become frustrated. The users in this case are working with documents from a collection of authors that have built the documents from other existing documents.

Using the Styles and Formatting task pane, the selection shown in the Style pull down list can be controlled; but this can be a laborious and at times frustrating task.

I have tried recording the above procedure in an attempt to develop some code to automate this task based on a standard range of styles. My efforts so far have been consistently unsuccessful. Can anyone provide some guidance?

If the styles you need are consistent, then you could provide your own toolbar with a drop down list of just the styles you care about.

    Thank you Stuart
That looks like a good alternative.
