IE 5.5 Default Home Page (IE 5.5)

When I open IE the default home page has been changed to another site. With three teenagerrs at home, who knows how this happened. Whenever I reset it in Internet Options - General, it will revert back to this unwanted site when I reopen IE. Appears some site has made some changes in the defalut IE settings and rewrites these changes when ever I try to change it. I use Windows 98.
Thanks!

Three teenagers you say?

There are many sites on the web that will ask you if you would like to make this your homepage, of course most people would say no, but in all thier excitement, they're likely clicking 'yes' instead.

My recommendation, have a little chat with them, explaining the importance of clicking 'No' on windows that may pop up from time to time, and if they're not sure, have them ask! There are also scripted viruses & the like out there... so it's who of them to keep an eyeout for those little dialogs that popup from time to time...

To my knowledge, there isn't any 'software' that would do this automatically, unless you've got some adware on your system, but that wouldn't be my area of expertise...

Hope that helps!

You stated "revert back to this unwanted site ", what is the unwanted site address?
If you were give us the address we could check it to see if it happens on another computer.

I also have to agree with Drk, it is most likely that the kids are telling the site "OK" and then "Not me mommy".

Between real kids and big kids at work, when it come to computers and problems of this sort, I have to read between the lines and just remember that most people will NOT admit in making changes to a computer.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
