    Unaccessible Folders (Windows XP Home Edition)

    I have a computer that apparently got fried by a power surge. I took it to a computer technician and he basically replaced my computer with a new one with my old hard drive. In the process of setting up the new computer he went into the disk and found the

    This depends on what you mean by "Password Protected". If this is just an issue with ownership and file permissions then you should be able to "Take Ownership" of the problem folders. See <!mskb=308421>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 308421<!/mskb> for instructions.
