    Ashampoo Antispyware

    Hello,

I just wanted to know if some of you tried the Ashampoo Antispyware program and what you thought of it ?
It seems pretty good but I just wanted to get some feedback from other people also.

    Thanks in advance

    Nicolas,
I have used Ashampoo products like Tweak UI and others they offer but have not tried the AV app. Generally speaking, they do a decent job with their offerings, so why not run it as a backup to your present product and see how it compares? Run it manually, not automatically so that they they don't clash or slow down your system.

    Re: Ashampoo Antispyware

If you enter Ashampoo antispyware review in Google, you will get several hits - not all are favorable.

I am not a fan of security suites, but on my main machine, I use ZoneAlarm Pro, which I guess you could call a mini-suite - it has a firewall and anti-spyware program that work great. However, for all my other systems, I use Microsoft Windows Defender for anti-spyware - which, for the money - some might say for any amount of money (see here), it can't be beat. And since Bill Gates has said it will remain free to everyone with a valid copy of Windows, it seems like a real winner.

Of course, no anti-spyware will completely compensate for poor safe computing practices.

@ Bob - Ashampoo TweakUI? - I can't find anything on that, except of course, Microsoft's TweakUI - do you mean "PowerUp"?

    Bill,
That should have said "Fresh UI" by Ashampoo.

Umm - I think they are still mixed up - what's in that BBQ sauce you are using today! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

FreshUI is from FreshDevices! I have used that too - but actually prefer X-Setup - of course neither are of help to Nicolas in his quest for anti-spyware.

    Bill,
You are right. Fresh Devices makes Fresh UI. I don't know why but I thought Fresh Devices was a spin off from Ashampoo. Guess not.
And it's not helping Nicolas with his question. So much for that.

    BTW, the BBQ sauce is very good with a little Jack D on the side. <img src=/S/pinkelefant.gif border=0 alt=pinkelefant width=20 height=20> <img src=/S/yum.gif border=0 alt=yum width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
