    Email Filter (OE6)

I'd like to set up OE so that any email messages received from a sender not in my address book are sent to a "spam" folder.

    Is this possible?

I've had a play in the tools section but can't find a solution.
Also searched this forum & Google without success.

    Thanks

I have just read and applied OE mail filters after reading two sites. The first site is http://www.mindspring.com/~majik/messagerules.htm. Rule #4 seems to fit your requirements. I haven't tried this one.

The second site is http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/Emai...s/image2_2.html viewing rules starting at #10

In both of these I found that the additional option to stop further processing greatly improved my download time. I had kludged up my system with several rules. Use the down arrows to see more selections.

For now I have settled on No @, No To: or Cc: line, (both from 1st reference), Spam Filter Diet, Spam General, Spam Health, (from the 2nd source) My normal folders (with the addition of stop processing further) and finally at the end a Mass Spam Catcher (also from the 2nd source).

    Happy Filtering
