    Forms and Tables (2000)

Hello I have a table with a text box placed in for free typing from the forms tools. The cell I have the textbox in moves down as text and new lines are returned. Eventually my doument ends up on two sometimes more pages. I don't want this, i want the text typing not to move down rows in the table cell and just to be restricted to the pre set size of the cell. How can I do this.

    thanks Darren.

You can use the Row tab of Table | Table Properties to set the height of the cell to an exact height specified by you. The user can still enter more text than will fit in the cell, but the surplus text will disappear from view instead of increasing the cell height. You could use code as posted by <!profile=JanB>JanB<!/profile> in <post:=448,050>post 448,050</post:> to warn the user if too many lines are entered.
(You can also limit the number of characters that can be entered in the form field)
