News in Outlook (2003) (MSO 2003)

I added the "New" command to the "Go" menu, but it gives me an error: "Unknown command-line switch: /outnews"

What the heck and how do I fix THAT?

    Regards,

If you select Tools | Internet Options in Internet Explorer and activate the Programs tab, what is the program for newsgroups?

    Hans:

    It's Outlook Express.

That should be OK, but just for fun, try setting it to Microsoft Outlook. If that doesn't work, you can always reset it to Outlook Express.

Re: News in Outlook (2003) (MSO 2003)

Outlook itself doesn't offer a newsreading mode; the Go | News option actually starts Outlook Express. /outnews is an option you can add to the command line that starts Outlook Express (not Outlook). It makes Outlook Express start in newsreader mode instead of in e-mail mode.
Apparently Outlook got confused over which application to start. Did my suggestion help?
