Converting csv, keep values (Excel 2003)

I am trying to convert a csv file into Excel. I have a number 10 A in a csv file. Excel keeps making this value into a zero. It recognizes the number as a time 10:00 AM and automatically converts it to 0. What can I do to the csv file to make it stop doing that? Thank you for the help.

Excel processes .csv files automatically. To prevent this, change the extension to .txt. When you open it from within Excel, the Text Import Wizard will start.
In step 1, specify that the file is delimited.
In step 2, specify comma as delimiter.
In step 3, click on the column containing values such as "10 A" and specify that it is to be treated as text.

What could be an idea is to import the CSV into Excel and ensure that the field that has the 10 A is set to TEXT in the options from the Wizard..see screen shot below

When I import a .csv file into Excel, it doesn't display the Wizard, it just imports it.

A ha, I used File | Open, setting the file type to Text files. Your method does indeed display the Wizard in my version too. <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15>
