    Hidden Row/Column Headers (1)

I recently received an Excel spreadsheet which contained no Row or Column headers (no "A", "1"...) - it looked more like a Word document than an Excel.

Can anyone explain how this formatting was applied by the creator?

    Thanks! Gerald

    Re: Hidden Row/Column Headers (1)

Hi Gerald, welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Select Tools | Options... and if necessary, activate the View tab.
The check box labeled "Row & column headers" controls whether the row numbers and column letters are displayed.
The setting of this check box is saved for each individual worksheet (so row and column headers can be hidden in Sheet1, and visible in Sheet 2).
The View tab lets you specify several other display options.
