DVD Creation Software

Can anyone provide a recommendation based on personal use for software to create a DVD containing images derived from scanned old family photos? The images want to be presented in story style with perhaps captions, voice commentary and chapters

Hi Paul,
I've done the exact same thing you want to do and used MemoriesOnTV and found that to be very easy and full-featured. MemoriesOnTV is Not freeware but you can download the demo version that is full fieatured with only a watermark embedded in the scanned images you have.
Very satisfied and even upgraded to this present version.
The choice ultimately - is yours.

Have fun

Bob,
Well, that's one I had not heard about - looks interesting.

Hi Paul
ProdShowGold seems to be the choice of the Wedding Pros, it can be a bit buggy at times, but there are a couple of very helpful web groups.

PSG Forum
Yahoo ProShow Group Many members submit their show for coments from the group members and usually get very helpful constructive sugestions on how to improve shows.

Hope this helps with your choice.

It does help Neville.
My initial look at PSG left me quite interested in this product. I also like the active groups that help support using PSG.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: DVD Creation Software

Paul,
I am in the midst of doing the same thing for a friend of mine. He brought over a box of over 1000 35mm slides and I'm about half way through them at this point. Scanning them with a HP 4850 photo scanner.

I'm using Nero Express 6.6 in slide show mode and it seems to do all the good things you mentioned. My only negative is that it does take a little practice to get it to do everything. Some of the options are a little hidden away. Once you do find them all, then it works fine.

Bob,
He must be a very good friend!
Nero was one of the very few offerings I was aware of, thanks for your comments on it.
I am going to make a choice soon

PS: your e-mail filter is way too good, at least for filtering out locals . After four attempts, I've stopped trying. Any e-mails to you in the future I will route through this site.

I don't know why it's not accepting your mail. Checked again and both addresses are on the good guy list.
I HAVE been getting a LOT of Spam junk with our town name on it but don't really see why it would kick yours out also??

Try it ONCE more? I'll keep an eye out for it in the filtered folder.

Hi Paul,

If you are considering PSG, Fitz9016 has put together many tips & ideas on how to push PSG/PSP to it's limits and has uploaded them to his Photodex On-Line Album.

The link above should get you in to view them, you will need to d/l & install Photodex Presenter to view them.

Re: DVD Creation Software

Neville,
There are some impressive presentation ideas on the link you provided.
AT the moment, I am leaning toward PSG. The rich sources of information and help in using PSG is a real + in my opinion.
Thanks,
Paul
