    'Ransomware' strikes...

This doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet in the Lounge.

The length these criminals will go to are sickening. The article serves as a reminder for all of us:
    - Keep your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs up-to-date.
    - Don't open attachments in e-mails unless you know you can trust them.
    - Make backups frequently.

If people use an attached USB hard drive for backups, it would be a good idea to detach that drive after the backup, to prevent it from being encrypted should malware become active on the system.

Sophos, the UK antivirus manufacturer, appears to have cracked the Ransomware Trojan's 30-digit 'passphrase'. Bletchley Park strikes again?!
