    auto fill (2003)

Hello, iam out of practise and a little ring rusty...have table subject type which has a one to many with subject name, have pupil table and schedule table of exams taken. It's a one to many between pupil and schedule of exams. In the exams I show the detail amongst others of subject name and subject type. How, when the subject name field is completed can the subject type auto populate, they are already linked in relations.

    Thanks Darren.

One possibility is to create a query based on the schedule and subject tables, joined on subject. Double click the join and select the option to return all records from the schedule table. Add the fields from the schedule table plus the subject type to the query grid. Use this query as record source for your form.

Another possibility is to use a combo box for subject with subject type as hidden extra column (width 0), and a text box with a control source like

    =ComboName.Column(1)

where ComboName is the name of the combo box, and where subject type is the second column (columns start counting at 0).

If that doesn't help, please provide more detailed information.
