    Quick style changes (Word 2003)

I've just begun using Word 2003 after using Word 2000 for several years.

One handy feature in Word 2000 for quickly modifying a style is to make the formatting changes in a paragraph, then click directly in the style window and press Enter. A dialog box asks you, "Modify style to reflect current changes?", you press Enter to accept, and the style is changed.

I tried this in Word 2003 but it didn't work. The only way I've been able to change a style is to go through the routine of Format > Styles and Formatting, and then use the pane that opens on the right to change the style.

Does the quick method still exist in some form in Word 2003?

The following is supposed to do what you want:
    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Edit tab.
Tick the check box labeled "Prompt to Update Style".
    Click OK.
