Best Method: Splash Screen (97 SR2)

So, I've got a pretty nice bitmap I created, that I intended to use as my splash screen. What would be the best method to do this? If I create a new form with just the bitmap in it, it doesn't quite look right, is there a way to display only the bitmap?

I don't want to toy with the actual access settings, (I know I can replace it's splash screen with my own,) because i'm not certain this is the only database they will be using...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

I typically use the bitmap to form the background of a splashcreen form. Set the Picture property to your image and Picture Size Mode = Stretch, so that the picture is stretched vertically and horizontally to fill the entire form. Set the Picture Alignment property = Center. If this causes your picture to become distorted, it may not be the solution for you.
Other property settings handle the timing. Post back if you need help with that.

Hello Drk, Access allows you to use a bmp file as a splash screen very simply. All you need to do is give it the same name as the database file and store it in the same directory. i.e. if your db is mydatabase.mdb - name your bitmap file mydatabase.bmp. <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15>

Is there a way to change how long the splash displays for?

    Hi Drk,

Here is an example of the Splash I use. Unfortunately, I had to remove the graphics due to the large size. Let me know if you want me to email the file with graphics (about 300KB).

There's a timer as well as the ability to use the Splash as an "About..." form with buttons that are only visible when desired. The example should be fairly self explanatory.
