Saving a workbook in Excel (XP)

    Hi all,
One of my colleagues is getting message (see below) when she is trying to save a microsoft excel workbook

Excel could not save all the data and formatting you recently added profit and loss.xls
To return to your workbook without saving click Cancel.
If you want to continue saving changes without repairing the problem, click OK
For information about repairing the problem, click Help.

    thanks.

Re: Saving a workbook in Excel (XP)

According to XL: "Excel Could Not Save All the Data and Formatting" Error Message, this error occurs if conditional formatting has been applied to more than 2,050 rows. This is a "hard" limitation of Excel, so the only solution is to remove some of the conditional formatting.

Please see the MSKB article I provided a link to (which was the first hit in Google when I searched for the error message)
