Opening Folders in Same Window (XP SP2)

    Hi,

A co-worker is plagued with multiple open windows. She'll drill down 4 levels from the My Documents Window and wind up with 5 windows open in all.

I've checked Tools / Folder Options and under Browse Folders the "Open each folder in the same window" is selected. I've tried selecting the "own window" option and then putting it back, but nothing seems to fix this problem.

Is there another setting that needs to be adjusted to prevent multiple windows?

    Thanks very much!

    John

Visit Registry Edits for Windows XP "Tweaks and Tips", scroll down to # 209 - right column, download the fix and merge it (double-click) to the Registry.

Re: Opening Folders in Same Window (XP SP2)

    Hi,

I went to that site and printed out the registry settings. My co-worker's computer had the same settings for the first entry, so all I did was add the second entry listed ("NoSaveSettings"). However, no change - XP still insists on opening every folder into a new window.

    Any other ideas out there?

    Thanks,

    John
