    Track Changes and Headers/Footer (Word 97/2000/XP/2003 ...)

Possibly the answer is 'No I can't do anything about it'. I will ask it anyway:

Is there a way of specifying/switching off that 'Track Changes' does not highlight the headers & footers text as part of 'tracking changes'?

    Thanks

As far as I know, no. Headers and footers usually contain fields that are updated automatically, such as the page number, the date and/or the document name. Track Changes sees this as a change, so it highlights the text. There is no setting to exclude part of the document from Track Changes.

If you wait until the document is ready to deliver, then invoke the attached code, I think that you will have what you want. (With special thanks to Andrew Lockton)

The code merely accepts all revisions in all headers and footers.
