    ADPCM Wav format

I have Wav files that I would like to convert to MP3. Usually I use audacity but it does not support this format (It has it listed in the import dialog, but the import button is grayed out). Anyone have any freeware that does this? I did a google search, but was asking the wrong question, since the results were not very helpful. So I throw myself at the mercy of the loungers!

Try Quintessential and then look at the plug-in section to install wav conversion

From the sound of it, you may not have the LAME codec installed. Try searching for LAME using Google.

PS Do you mean "import" or do you mean "export"?? <img src=/S/confused3.gif border=0 alt=confused3 width=45 height=45>

    Re: ADPCM Wav format

I have a file in ADPCM format that I want to open in Audacity and then eexport to MP3. I have Lame installed, but I cannot open the original file. It has the ADPCM format listed in the open file dialog, but the "open button" is grayed out.
    Thanks

    Re: ADPCM Wav format

Perhaps it's then a matter of having the ADPCM codec installed? Google does seem to deliver a fair amount of hits on "ADPCM codec". Otherwise, I'm out of ideas, but HTH.
