    Stack Fault with module kernel32.dll

    Hello,

I have one user getting a message which states that a program is causing a stack fault in module kernel32.dll. The user is using Windows 98 second edition. Does anyone know what this means?

The program that is causing this error is a program that is used by many people everyday without too many problems and has been used by people today with no problems.

Is there a problem with the PC?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, AJB

You actually need to include more information about the error message. It's usually "x caused a stack fault in module kernel32.dll" or something similar.

One possibility is to go here.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Stack Fault with module kernel32.dll

Thanks Phil. The full message is: "DBQW-WINNT caused a stack fault in module kernel32.dll at 0167:bff7429f" DBQW-WINNT is a program that has been used for a couple of months with no major problems.

I have looked at the Microsoft KB but could not find specific there, however, I did get the feeling that this error message is indicating that there may be a memory problem.

    AJB.

    Hi AJB,
I am not familiar with the program. It could be that something was installed or uninstalled recently that affected the program. Stack faults are hard to track down. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
