    Attachments with periods (Outlook 2003)

Does anyone remember the fix for opening attachments with multiple periods in the filename? I have a user who cannot open the attachments but others in her office are ok.

    Thanks

I'm not aware of a special fix, but make sure that this user (and all others) do not hide extensions for known file types:
    - Open Windows Explorer.
    - Select Tools | Folder Options...
    - Activate the View tab.
    - Clear the check box labeled 'Hide file extensions for known file types'.
    - Click OK.

What exactly happens when the user tries to open the attachment? Or is it blocked (e.g., like a .lnk "Windows shortcut" file)?

As a workaround for a non-blocked attachment, opening the application first and/or saving the attachment to the file system might help.
