    Bar Graph Colour (2003)

In a workbook I have Sales and Forecast numerical data (items sold), which is then charted. If I have the forecast figures coloured red, with actual sales data coloured black, can I automatically have the graph bar fill colour match the data colour, so it is easy to see what is forecast quantities on the graph?

There is no automatic link between colors used in cells and colors used in a chart. No doubt it would be possible to write a macro that adjusts tha chart colors, but it would be a lot of work to take all eventualities into account.

Can you, instead of using color to differentiate, put them into different places in the source data and plot as 2 ranges? Then the chart can mark them differently.

Here is a very simple example that may be appropriate.

Steve, That's a good idea, and so simple. Many thanks, a rearrangement of the data and I have what I require.
