Printing specific pages within sections (97)

    Hi

I have a document of two sections, with each section containing two pages and each page separated by a page break. That is, it goes, page 1, page break, page 2, section break, page 3, page break, page 4.

If I specify "p1s1-p1s1" when printing, page 1 prints.
    If I specify "p1s1-p1s1,p3s2-p3s2", page 1 and 3 print.

So far, all according to Hoyle. But:
If I specify "p1s1-p1s1,s2", the whole document prints (even p2, which shouldn't print).

    Simlarly:
If I specify "p1s1-p1s1,p3s2-p4s2", the whole document prints (even p2, which shouldn't print).

    Any ideas?

Perhaps the MS programmers didn't expect concatenation in the print dialog to get so complicated. <img src=/S/bagged.gif border=0 alt=bagged width=22 height=22>

Do you have more luck with p1s1,s2 ?

If Word is working properly, then p2 really is in section 2. Otherwise, Word is not working properly. Do you have Word patched up as far as MS patched it?

    Jefferson,

    > p2 really is in section 2

I don't get this. I think this document has 2 sections, and each section has 2 pages. So pages 1 and 2 are in section 1 and pages 3 and 4 are in section 2.

No, it's most definitely as I described it (p1, page break, p2, section break, p3, page break, p4). I suspect Andrew's right and MS didn't expect such super-duper levels of sophistication.

    Thanks anyway
