Chart: forcing a line between non contiguous value (Excel Office 2003)

I have a chart that shows multiple series. Some tests like a CEA may only be done on every say 3rd visit where a hgb or HCT is done every visit. The Hgb or HCT series shows a line through all the points. Where as the CEA will show gaps in the line. Is there a way to get the chart to draw the line connecting the points even though values are missing And it is not desireable to add artificial results. I have tried trend lines but they are not helpful
    Thanks Jerome

    Click on the chart.
    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Chart tab.
In the "Plot empty cells as" section, select "Interpolate".
    Click OK.
