Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

ok...did some Goggling...various links that I clicked and here are some things I found:
1. Do you have SpywareBlaster installed? It has an option to disable flash which could cause the problem.
2. Get the latest version of Macromedia Flash.
3. Clear your browser cache?
4. Does KB912945 apply to you?
That's all that I've been able to find....I need to go play some solitaire @ Pogo...

Went to pogo.com - Help...did a search...no answers...BUT, have you tried their Popup-Blocker test?

I've ALMOST reached the point of installing SP2. Then I can stop people pushing it at me, I know they mean well but they aren't the coward I am. I'm like chicken little who always expected the sky to fall (he was in my first reader in the first grade).

Hi Ilona.
Yes Pogo was in my trusted zone, but it looked strange as it appeared as:
http://*.game1,pogo.com Do you think I should delete it.

I added this today:
http://www.pogo.com.

Can you be reached on Pogo with the name: ilona47 or was that meant for someone else?

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

I went into the registry (both locations) and both had zeros in 1200. I removed the zeros and typed it in again. The procedure was found on http://www.winxptutor.com/helpsecerror.htm
found by searching on Google.
I haven't tried Pogo yet, but I will. I don't expect any relief because of the zeros already being where they belong.

Thanks for the suggestion of searching on Google (the best search engine in the world).

You have XP...I have ME...I guess that's where the difference might be...*that's why I didn't upgrade to XP - too many 'other' things to fix *
Hope to 'see' you @ Pogo.

I tried to reply yesterday, but there was an error posting it, so I'll try again today.
Sorry Lonnie, I meant to answer all your questions. Pogo is in my trusted zone.
I hope you were successful checking ads on the gamesite. How exactly do you block ads? Since I can't get in, blocking them will be impossible at the present time.

I did enter the error message on Google and found something that may help.
Well, here goes, hitting the reply button.

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

I got into Pogo by using Firefox. in the index I couldn't see Flight or Jungle Solitaire. I paid for the game and neither's on the members list.

I hope I didn't delete the cookies you mentioned. Perhaps using the alternate browser they were entered again.

...it was First Class Solitaire and Lost Temple Poker ...sorry
I only use IE, so perhaps Firefox is best browser for you.
You paid for Club Pogo? I go the route. BTW, I added you to my Friends List.

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

I use NoAds...a popup blocker. But since you have XP, I think it has its' own blocker???
Hope you get a reply from the EA Help group soon...they are supposed to know everything what goes screwy @ Pogo.

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

Ok...just went to one of my other gamesites...guess what?!? Got that same popup...all I did was click on the 'OK' and went and played a game. I think it is just a random popup from whatever ad is 'running' in the background.

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

Among others I use an execllent pop-up blocker named AdSubtract (it's not the freeware version). If XP Home Edition has a pop-up blocker I haven't found it. With AdSubtract I'm able to see what has been blocked and Pogo is not on the list.

As for adding you to my Friends List, is there an underscore at the end of your name?

Re: Security Settings (IE 6.0 SP1)

1) Microsoft added the popup blocker to Internet Explorer in Windows XP SP-2.
2) See <post:=582,674>post 582,674</post:>:
