    Flash and Opera (Opera 9)

I wanted to look at the site http://www.plumbinfo.com using Opera 9, which is my default browser. When I got there it diverted me to a page that said "You do not have the flash player that is needed to view this" (that page was www.plumbinfo.com/upgrade) and gave me a link to click to download it. I did the download in case I didn't have the latest flash version or whatever, installed it, even tried using the flash uninstaller first, all to no avail.

But, if I go to http://www.plumbinfo.com in FF or IE, it works fine and takes me to http://www.plumbinfo.com/flash.html and what is more if I copy the address http://www.plumbinfo.com/flash.html into Opera it provides the content perfectly well, which suggests I DO have flash as required, but if I try to go to www.plumbinfo.com it still takes me to the page that says I don't.

On the Adobe page at http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ in all three browsers it tells me happily enough that I do have Flash 9.0.16.0 installed.

    I'm confused!

Don't know if its a problem with the site or Opera, but I get the same result as you.

I suspect it is a problem with the site since I tried several other sites that use Flash with no problem.

Yes - there has been another site http://www.kttunstall.com/ that won't work for me in Opera, or in FF, though it does in IE. (See the common thread here? I like music sites!) Maybe you're right that it is a fault with the site and not at my end.

Interesting to note that http://www.kttunstall.com now works fine for me in both Opera and FF. I don't think I've changed anything in my set-up, so this supports Tony's theory that the fault lay with the site, and they have now cured it. Still no joy with http://www.plumbinfo.com though.
