Ecrypt contents of an Excel file (2000 - 2003 )

Is there a method to encrypt an entire Excel workbook or would each cell containing data have to be encrypted?

Just a quick thought as I look at this and the first thing I thjought of is why not keep it smple and just place the excel file in a password protected zip file. it may assist and keep it simple incase the data gets corrupted....by <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15> worth

If you set a password for opening the workbook, the workbook will be encrypted. You can set this in the Security tab of Tools | Options..., and also by selecting Tools | General Options... in the File | Save As... dialog. You can click Advanced to specify the encryption method ("Weak encryption" is very weak indeed)
