    Count occurances between dates (2003 SP2)

    I am trying to count the number of times salesmans' initials appear in 2 columns between 2 dates, but not only individually but also with another sales person.
    Please see the attached spreadsheet.
    Thanks

    Do the SUMPRODUCT formulas in the attached workbook do what you want? If not, please provide more info.

    Another formula you might want based on your questions (and using Hans' workbook) is:

    =SUMPRODUCT((C5:C13>=D22)*(C5:C13<=D23)*(D513=D25)*(E5:E13=""))+SUMPRODUCT((C5:C13>=D22)*(C5: C13<=D23)*(D513="")*
    (E5:E13=D25))

    This will give the count of the person individually: If they have no "partners". That is to say that their initials are in D and no-one is in E or their initials are in E and no one is in D. Hans' formula will count whether they are alone or with a partner.

    Thanks Hans & Steve, the responses give me the result I am looking for.
