    make a Selection and double the value (Excel 2000)

    Hello,

    I am wondering if any one knows a way I can highlight a range of cells and multiply each value in a cell be a number?

    ex.
    range
    a1:a6
    a1= 2
    a2 = 3
    a4 = 4
    a5 = 5
    a6 = 6

    using a function I can then double the values
    a1 = 2
    a2 = 4
    a3 = 6

    and so on

    ?

    Your example is inconsistent, but if I understand you correctly, you can do the following:
    - Enter the multiplication factor in a cell.
    - Select this cell and copy it to the clipboard (select Edit | Copy or press Ctrl+C).
    - Select the target range (A1:A6 in your example).
    - Select Edit | Paste Special...
    - Select the Multiply option, then click OK.
