List Select in XL 97 (Excel 97)
I know this is a basic question, but How do you offer selections (select employee) from a list like the expense report example in XL 97.

I haven't seen the example but I believe what you're after is found under Data/Validation.
On the settings tab select list in the allow box and then select the area of your list using the refedit box - this can only be on the same sheet in the workbook, unless you use a named range (insert/name/define and then type "=MyRangeName" or similar in the refedit box.) If you use a list on the page where you are using the validation, you can always hide the column/row the data is in if you don't want it on display.
