    M. I. A. (Win XP)

In Start|AccessoriesSystem, I'm missing everything except IE. I'm also missing the System Restore command and the File Extraction Wizard.
    How can I re-add these?
My Win XP is an upgrade from Win 98

Do you have Windows SP2 installed?

If not, update your Windows OS first with the SP2 upgrade and get all the latest updates from Windows Update.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

And then take a look at Troubleshooting Windows XP, Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP in line 309 on the left to see what it does for you.

    Thank you! It worked perfectly.
Now, how do I get the extraction tool for unzipping files?

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know whether native WinXP can open .ZIP files or not because I've used WinZip for so many years that ... Here's a link to WinZip: <A target="_blank" HREF="http://www.winzip.com/">WinZip

Windows XP has built-in support for zipping and unzipping.

See if Restore Compressed Zipped Folders Association (#85 on the right hand side) and/or Restore Zip Folders to Default in XP (#139 on the left hand side) in Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP help.
