    Hyperlink Attachments (MSO 2003)

If I send an e-mail with a hyperlink attached, I get a warning of it's possible risk....

Is there any way to turn that warning off?

A Google for <code>"hyperlink warning outlook 2003"</code> brings up MSKB 829072: How to disable hyperlink warning messages in Office 2003 as the first choice - what do you get?

    Re: Hyperlink Attachments (MSO 2003)

You can send it, but Outlook will block .url and .lnk attachments by default, so the recipient usually will not be able to access it. If you value your friendships, don't advise other people to unblock these extensions (unless you will be there to pick up the pieces for what might happen to them or their computers). It's always best to paste the link into the message body as either plain text or an HTML link, rather than an attachment.

You're probably right... You can't "read" a link anyway...

Geez, I TRY to be a good guy...

I'm trying to send an e-mail with a link in it -- not attached, but in the text -- like being on an IE page and doing "File / Send / Link by e-mail -- but I get the same warning box... attached.

Ain't there any way to turn this off?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

I don't use IE much, but perhaps that menu item is adding a .url attachment? You should not see that error if you copy from the address line, create a new blank message and paste into the body.

Must've been, 'cause I tried just cut/paste, and didn't get the error.

I don't use IE all the tie either, but that was a bit weird.

    Chuck
