Option To Return email as Undeliverable (Outlook 2

I once was a proud user of an email program called IncrediMail. But I gave up on it long ago, deleted the program and have been using Outlook through at least a few versions. The one thing I still miss from IncrediMail was the ability to bounce a message back to the original sender and make it appear as undeliverable.

I thought (and still think) that was a great feature. A superb way to deal with junk mail. Is there a way, that I'm missing, to do this with Outlook? Perhaps an add-in? Macro? The junk mail options that I see and use in Outlook are somewhere between lame and useless.

    Thanks,

It is not very useful to generate bounce messages after the connection with the sending server has been closed. There are several reasons for this:
    1.
Sender addresses are very commonly forged, so you don't know whether you are replying to the true sender or spamming an innocent victim.

Bounce messages can be forged too, as you plan to do in this case. Only a rejection in the context of the SMTP session is ironclad proof that an address is invalid.

Senders don't edit their lists anyway, because it is essentially free to send another dozen messages but costs real money (staff time) to clean up lists.
At least, that's the way I see it.

The amount of junk mail I'm taking in daily is maddening. Sometimes 200 per day!

Oddly, most of the junk I'm getting is coming in through a "catchall" feature on my own domain. And I only use that email for business and banking. Can't really figure out how the spammers got ahold of that one...

On the other hand, I use my gmail account for everything: registrations, newsletters, on-line purchases, etc. and I bet I don't get 5 or 6 junk mails a week through gmail. And most of the time, it is something I can unsubscribe to with little effort.

It's the assault on my personal email that I least appreciate. I certainly don't wish to cause any grief to the innocent but I wish I could melt the systems that belong to the spammers - Jerks!

I certainly don't like receiving junk mail. Before the office switched to Postini, I used SAProxy. It was a chore to train it as it was not designed to work with Outlook. Most people who recommend add-ins for Outlook seem to like SpamBayes, but I never got around to trying it. One thing I can say for it: it is very attractively priced.

Bounce is a feature of Apple's mail program for the Macintosh. Two comments though,

    1. First you need a Mac,
    2. A bounce usually results in an undeliverable message back, since the original sender address wasn't valid.
