    InstUtl.exe

    <img src=/S/new.gif border=0 alt=new width=35 height=15> In my startup - using msconfig - I found the following: InstUtl.exe
    What is this?? do I need it in my startup? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
Also, is there a site that lists what should be in the startup <img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>?
    TIA

    Re: InstUtl.exe

Do a search for this "InstUtl.exe" file on your hard drive. Once you find it make note of the folder that it is in and then right click it and select Properties. Make note of the inversion listed in the Version Tab.

Post the noted information here and we may be able to help further.

My first "SWAG" would be that it is "Ints" = Install and "Utl" = Utility <img src=/S/fire.gif border=0 alt=fire width=15 height=15>

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

It turns out that this is part of Freedom program, which I had uninstalled and deleted last year! It wasn't check-marked in startup..I just couldn't figure out what it was.
    Thank you for your help.
PS...we do need a plain 'thank you' smiley
