Re: McAfee has problems

I was initially startled to see that the following posts to this thread were removed but then saw that it was still intact further down in the list.

This first thread was posted to allow readers to see what was a publicly published article on the Boston TV Channel 5 website.
It's purpose ( the thread ) was and is to alert users of Corporate versions of the AV to determine if their systems were at risk from the security hole in the AV software.

There should be no violation of Rule 11 with this intent.

I didn't read the missing posts, but your link referring to McAfee (suggesting the official site) actually leads to a newspaper article. ??

Re: McAfee has problems

When articles like this come out, it is very easy for people to pile on with their negative comments about the vendor involved.

There is no shortage of web sites where people can express any opinion they want, and where flame wars and abuse are common, but the lounge tries to be different. We have a set of RULES which help to keep this the friendly, light hearted place that we all enjoy visiting.

It is good to share warnings about potential problems like this, but let's all try to keep the spirit of <!rule=11>Rule 11<!/rule> and stick to sharing the facts.

regards,

StuartR

McAfee has problems

McAfee has admitted to having design flaws in it's Corporate AV program. A quiet update is advised.
