    ControlTip Text (Office 2000)

    Hello,
I've entered some text [hints] in the "ControlTip text" properties for each field on a form. It takes quite a while for the tip to appear. Is there a way to have the tip also appear when I'm in the field ready to enter information? In other words, after entering data and then enter to the next field, could the tip automatically pop up or does it only appear with the mouse?

    Thanks
    Louise

The ControlTip Text only appears when the user hovers the mouse over the control. You could use the StatusBar Text property - this is displayed in the status bar as long as the control is active. Pro: there's no delay and it doesn't disappear after a few seconds, con: users tend to overlook it.

Thanks Hans! Didn't know about that one. I had put some text in the description area in the table itself but it didn't show up in the Status Bar area of the form itself. Glad to know I can enter it in the properties though.

I'm so gald you are part of this forum! Thanks again!
