Depends which os you've got. In 98SE etc. do a search for *.dbx files. They'll be buried in a folder in Windows called Application Data. Similarly in 2kP they're in a similar file In %Identity%Local SettingsApplication Data.......
However, you don't really need to do this manually. On the File menu of OE, choose Import, Messages and take it from there.
Recently I acccidentally deleted a whole week's email, then closed OE, which in my settings, effectively loses it. To get the messages back into OE, I opened MS Outlook, which downloaded the week (and everything else!), and then deleted all but the messages I wanted to transfer. I closed Outlook and opened OE and proceeded to Import from that application's files to my OE Inbox. Worked fine.

Thanks for your reply MerC.

Yes i know about the messages import feature in OE
however, this will not import your accounts settings
e.g mail servers address user name passwords etc.

This is what i'm after realy as i have about 8 diffrent mail accounts on OE.

Thanks again.

go to tools > accounts and export the accounts to iaf files.

also, export the registry.

see http://www.tomsterdam.com for more information on how to backup and restore.

Hi
I also have a number of ISPs and setting them up manually is a pain. I only ever did this once.
I'm rather embarrassed to say that I can't remember how I got my mail accounts into Outlook. They could have been automatically imported on installation of Outlook (using OE as the default base). I definitely did not set them up manually in Outlook at any time, and only at the very beginning in OE.
However, I do know that to set up the accounts initially in OE, I just clicked Import, chose Mail Account Settings and it found *.iaf files. I cheated a little and had previously saved them to a file in another partition (in the manner I've just noticed MaryJ describes) before upgrading IE. (The OE I am using is 5.50.4522.1200)
