Modifying objects in a shared database (Access 2003)

Can you modify objects in a shared database while someone is in the database? For example, a person is editing a table and I want to change the table name or a field in a table while they're in it, can I do that? What about making changes to an object they are not working in, but in the same database? If so, is there a potential problem?

No, that is not possible in Access 2000 and later, for very good reasons. In Access 97, it was possible to edit database objects while others were working in the database too, but this could easily lead to conflicts and even database corruption. Therefore, you now need to open the database exclusively in order to change its design.
