    Steve

I used to use an old program called FormTool, which was a Dos program and a bit long winded.
These days I only use Excel which has evrything needed to create any kind of form.

    Steve,

If you are trying to create fill-in forms, Word can do that for you. See the attached document.

    Re: Form Maker

Thanks! I'd always had the intention to learn how to create these, but never did.
Doc, your document lacks a final period. Is it supposed to continue? And one silly question: for the fill-in fields to be "writable", is it requiered that the document be protected (Tools | Protect Document... | Forms)?

Yes. While the document is unprotected, you can design the layout of the form. To be able to fill in the form fields, the document must be protected for forms. You can specify which sections of the document will be protected - in unprotected sections, the user can type arbitrarily (not constrained to form fields).

    Re: Form Maker

    Doc,

Rhetorical question - "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED THIS SEVERAL MONTH'S AGO ?"

Serioiusly, I to, always used Excel to create forms. Usually for a "Quick Survey", then used Outlook to "Broadcast" the survey so recipients could "Reply" with the answers and Outlook could tabulate the results. Of course this only works for Outlook users on our mail server, and we still had to manually port the data results to Excel.

I am passing your tip to the new "Survey" GURU. They are also working on saving form data in a database (MySQL - Why, I don't know - because the BOSS WANTS IT).

    Again, thanks.
