    Hyperlink to folder (Access 2000)

    In Access 2002 and above I am able to hyperlink to a folder from the hyperlink screen into a hyperlink feild, however I am unable to do this from Access 2000 or lower.
    In Access 2000 I am able to hyperlink to a file and then just remove the file name and the hyperlink opens the folder but this is the only way I have found.
    Also the drive letter gets replaced with the server name and directory in 2000.

    Is it possible to hyperlink directly to a folder (not a file) from the hyperlink screen in Access 2000?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    I don't think so. Alternatively, you could store the path in a text field instead of a hyperlink field.
    To let the user enter a path, you can use this function (provided by Don Ceraso):

    Public Function BrowseFolder(Optional Title As String = "Select a Folder", Optional RootFolder As Variant) As String
    On Error Resume Next
    BrowseFolder = CreateObject("Shell.Application").BrowseForFolder( 0, Title, 0, RootFolder).Items.Item.Path
    End Function

    and to open the folder, you can use Application.FollowHyperlink.
