Program to send large files

Hi,

I would like to send some large files to some one (size 25 meg) and need some FREE software to do this.
The nearest l could find is PANDO , the problem with this is that is requires some to download this software at there end.
As the person is not all that IT literate and they are weary of installing software. I would like a program like PANDO (www.pando.com) but where someone does not install any software to read the file l have sent.

Any help would be appreciated.
I have tried various software but it either does not accomdate the file size, or you have to pay or you have to download some software at the receipts end.
I would like some software that does not have any of these things.

I would look at uploading the file(s) to some webspace and getting the recipient to download it from there. Try <post:=570,834>post 570,834</post:> and replies.

You may want to try out http://www.dropload.com/.
I've used it before and all you need to do is register to upload (name, email address, and password) - your recepient received an email with a link to download the file(s). Up to 100 mb and
So far I haven't received any traceable spam from this site.

I'm just curious, Bob, since I've never used a service like this. I read what I can see on the site without registering and don't see any filetype restrictions, such as EXE files. Are there any revealed to you after you join? My web host, just for example, won't let me put EXE files on my own domain space.

(Edited by bleduc on 21-Jul-06 07:37. to add the post that first referenced dropload service.)
Hi Al,
Just sent a greeting card to your email address (it has an exe extension). You should be getting it un-changed - that is running the cardtwo.exe file will open the card. Should work, but the task of classifying the file as 'safe' would fall on the recipient.
Btw Dropload was first mentioned on <post:=496,681>post 496,681</post:>

Gosh, I forgot to check again last night, but I'm afraid I haven't gotten anything from you, Bob. Did you get any bounce notices or stuff like that?

Re: Program to send large files

Hi Al,
I haven't received any bounce notifications because I used dropload to send the email. You should have received an email from dropload@dropload.com - maybe your spam filter(s) trapped it?
That email would give you an url that opens the download prompt from dropload. The file supposedly stays on there for 7 days - unless you download it, then it gets deleted.
Maybe you could whitelist dropload.com and then I could resend that file via dropload to you?

OK Bob, I got it this time, now that I've straightened out my email address names! Thanks for the re-send. Anyway, echoing JJ's comments, that looks like a good way to go and thanks!
