Open Browser and Fill Forms (XP)

Is there a way to configure a macro to open a browser to a specific page and then fill in some info and selections on the web page?

The page contains free text boxes, check boxes, pulldowns, and radio buttons. And the page pauses and refreshes after some selections are made.

    Thanks!

Am I to assume that what you fill in on the html page then gets inserted in the current workbook or goes somewhere else <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough.

I'd like it to fill out the info on the web page. I won't need it back into Excel.

The info that it fills in can be either within the VB itself or pull from a page in the spreadsheet (preferred).

The page would be somewhat similar to the edit profile section here at Woody's.

In case you're wondering if it's for anything underhanded or shady, it's to automate a process at work.

Yes and this is where you enter a very complex world. We are now talking XML and ASP and the mapping of data from Excel to the html/asp.

I was actually having a read of this from the work library over a cold drink this afternoon and decided to have a lie down afterwards <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>. It is a quite complex area, what are your skills like?

    What skills do I have?

I'm afraid I'm limited to nunchuck and bowhunting skills.

Let me try another angle to complete what I need done.

What about launching a browser and then a non-office application. We also use TypeItIn.

    Hi there

Sorry for the delayed response, Mrs J had me on a DVD hunt at the local shop.

I think that this one is a grey area where we are having get your Excel workbook to connect to a backend database so that it can be read and the data "placed" in an Active server page.

I have found a nice little tutorial at Geekpedia.com if you are feeling particularly devilish today. It connects to IIS and pull sdata from the named ranges. Looking at the name of the site you may guess the skills required <img src=/S/nerd.gif border=0 alt=nerd width=20 height=21> <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Thank you for your reply. I hope you found the DVD you were searching for.

I will check that link out and see if I can absorb some of what's there.

    Thanks again.

Don't tell anyone I said this but...

If at first you do succeed, you&#39;ve probably missed something.
