    Re: Event Viewer-Warnings (XP Home/SR2)

Should I be concerned about the Red Flags?

As long as your applications are running OK and you lost no Office documents, you can ignore them.
To figure out what was wrong you have to post event ID and full description.

About problem with Help and Support Center link: check your Internet connection and firewall settings, and also allow Event Viewer to send event ID to Microsoft.

About Usernv warnings: the most common cause of this kind of events is that one of your Office XP applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and so on) is still running when you force your computer to restart or shut down. Just ignore them, but do not forget to save all open Office documents before you shut down, restart, hibernate or put to Standby mode your computer.

If you are getting log entries about user profile unload issues see Troubleshooting profile unload issues.

    Thanks for the site, Joe.

Am wondering, though: if the computer is working okay even with the Warnings, perhaps I am better off just leaving it alone. It does SEEM to take a long time to completely shut down, but am not even sure that's related to the Warnings.

Haven't used this site, but it's supposed to contain comments and errors from a range of users, and what they did to alleviate the problems.

    Dennis -

Thank you for that site. Most interesting, I've followed one of the suggestions posted.
