    Numbered Lists: Word2k vs Word97 (Word2k)

    Hello all,

Back when I was using Word97, numbered lists were giving me so much trouble* I threw my hands up in the air and started using fields for numbering.

** Usually 'trouble' would be the minor but annoying tendency to properly restart numbering in several lists in close proximity. In at least two cases, I wound up with corrupted documents where I strongly suspected numbering to be the culprit.

But anyway, are there any thoughts or opinions about the relative stability of auto-numbering in Word2k, versus how it was in Word97?

Apologies in advance if this has already been covered...

    Thanks,
    Arianna
