    Updating Current Record (Access 2002)

I want to run an update query on the current record only.

How can I qualify the query to only update the current record?

Why would you need to run an update query on the current record? If you are in a form, the values can be changed directly or from code. If you explain exactly what you're trying to do, someone may be able to help you.

I am trying to calculate a balance and have that number captured in a table. I know how to calculate the balance on the form but I want to update the record with the new balance. I am trying to run a check book ledger. Do you have a suggestion of a better way to do this?

The trouble is that Access records don't have any native order, so a running balance is meaningless. You can calculate it on a form or a report, but putting it into a field in the record would get you into trouble and it would be nearly impossible to maintain.
