XP hardware support?

I am in the process of specing a new test system for myself. One of the OS's will be Windows XP, initially starting with RC1.

The assumption I am making is that any hardware supported in Win2K should work with WinXP.

Comments?

None from myself.
However, this quick search at Google appears to throw up plenty of 3rd party comments, although I couldn't spot any direct comparison between the two OS's.

Re: XP hardware support?

I believe that XP is dropping support for certain types of legacy hardware.

Best to check at MSFT Windoze XP site.

Correct, but fortunately, that is not my concern. I am developing specs for a system which will be my primary test bed for the next two years. As such, it will be a new system and I was concerned about support for specific devices over several OS's.

MaryJ's comment about W2K drivers working on WXP for devices which do not have native support gave me the final piece of info I needed to fill out that column on my supported spreadsheet.
